" Named after Peter Sellers’s elegant- yet-enigmatic character in the film Being There, clothing line Chauncey is the quintessential kit for the globetrotter who’s seen (and worn) it all. Founded by the French-Belgian duo of Nathalie Bouhana —who previously helmed men’s knitwear design at Hermès and Ferragamo— and photographer David Sdika, the line
is being snapped up faster than it’s being spun. “Yarn is a work of anticipation,” says Bouhana. “We think in volume and details at the same time, but it’s the final result that’s really exciting.” Indeed, for spring, Chauncey offers an understated, carefully edited collection that includes a sand- colored waistcoat and cardigan,
a sweater-jacket hybrid, and Nehru- collared shirts. That the new line is modeled by Lanvin’s new face, Alban Blondiaux, is not bad, either. ADRIAN MOORE
